The most common factors for tooth discolouration are age, lifestyle, and medication, which are experienced by most, daily. Staining can be reversible and is a way to bring confidence in your smile.

Home whitening

We use the iTero scanner to take a digital impression of your teeth which we send to the lab for your custom-made whitening trays. These customised soft acrylic trays (similar to a sports guard) are comfortable to wear through the night to whiten as you sleep. A whitening gel (consisting of carbamide peroxide) is placed within the tray against the teeth and are worn for 3-8 hours daily for 1-3 weeks. Others may prefer a different formulation where the tray is worn for 30 minutes daily for 10-14 days. The gel can be used to top up the whitening as the teeth pick up discolouration.

Stain Removal

We also offer a stain removal treatment which can effectively remove specific lifestyle induced stains. Superficial staining on the enamel alters the appearance of the teeth to dull, lacklustre and prematurely aged and is mostly due to lifestyle – tea, coffee, red wine, smoking and other dietary sources.  The Stain Removal System is a non-abrasive powder-air-water jet stream that lifts superficial staining off all the surfaces of the tooth. Stain removal is a pre tooth whitening recommendation as it allows better results with the whitening agents.
